Dubai International Horse Fair 2013

Dubai International Horse Fair 2013 is set to begin this month at Dubai World Trade Centre from 21-23 March.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Dubai International Horse Fair is the region’s largest equestrian trade and business event.

Each year thousands of visitors are drawn to the trade fair, which supports a thriving equine industry in the UAE and wider Middle East that includes the world’s richest horse race, Dubai World Cup.

The exhibition runs alongside the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world, Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship 2013.

Exhibitors at Dubai International Horse Fair 2013

Companies involved in the equestrian industry are set to showcase their expertise at the exhibition, which attracts both UAE and international exhibitors.

Shadwell Estate is a key organisation endorsing Dubai International Horse Fair and a longstanding exhibitor, whose stand features Shadwell Farm, Shadwell Stud and Derrinstown Stud.  The show also receives strong support from exhibitor Jebel Ali Racecourse, a popular Dubai horse racing venue that celebrates its 21-year anniversary this season.

Dubai Equine Hospital will be exhibiting again this year with veterinarians present to discuss advanced services in equine medicine and surgery provided in world-class facilities.

Al Ain Zoo, in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, UAE, are supporting the show as sponsors and will be present at the exhibition.  Al Ain Zoo is located just 1.5 hours from Dubai near Jebel Hafeet Hot Springs and Ain Al Faida.

Exhibitors from Germany include German Horse Industry, an association of companies that equip Olympic, World and World Cup Championships.

Visitors and enthusiasts can also expect to meet suppliers of services for stables, join riding schools and source equestrian products and equipment.

Sculptor Carolyn Morton is amongst talented artists who will exhibit in the field of equine art, where paintings and gifts will be on display.

Supporting media at the exhibition include luxury polo, racing and lifestyle magazine Equestrio Arabia.

Dubai Racing Channel and Dubai-based publication Al Adiyat will also be present.  Al Adiyat has recently completed its 500th issue and features the latest indepth news and information in English and in Arabic.

UAE culture and heritage

The tradition of horse racing is deeply rooted in UAE culture and heritage.

A dedicated heritage village at the show offers activities and live demonstrations related to local culture.  Visitors can observe skilled craftsmen at work and traditional food being freshly prepared, with the opportunity to sample local delicacies and experience UAE hospitality.
